According to the overall planning of building reference room, in addition to three professional reference rooms: the Chinese Ideology and Culture Reference Room, the World Region and Country History, and the Northwest Ethnic History Reference Room, the School of History has put priority on the construction of a comprehensive history books and materials reference room. This room is now divided into four sections: the History Books Reference Room, the Archaeology MaterialsReference Room, the Periodical Reference Room, and the Reading Room for Students of Historiography Base. The reference room now has almost 100,000 Chinese and foreign books and journals, including 25,000 thread-bound books and over thousand religious classics. The Periodical Reference Room now owns more than two hundreds kinds of Chinese and foreign journals and newspapers containing most arts and social science core journals. This comprehensive history books and materials reference room, keeping a continuous relationship of reference exchanges with many universities and research institutes both at home and abroad such as Japan, South Korea, America, and Austria, has the function of searching data and information through the Internet.
